Obituary

Elnora Jean Estes, age 84, of Miller, Missouri, passed away at 6:13 p.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2017, at her residence.  She was born March 14, 1933, in Springlake, Texas, the daughter of Louis Hall and Mary Ellen (Shive) Mobley.

Elnora worked as a certified nurse’s aide at the Lawrence County Manor in Mt. Vernon, during the 1970’s.  She was a member of the Round Grove Baptist Church and the Miller Senior Citizen Center, where she cooked the meals on Wednesday’s and Saturday’s.

On November 10, 1949, she married Louis Wiley Estes, in Aurora, Missouri.  He preceded her in death on December 10, 2005.

She is survived by three daughters, Linda Pennington and her husband, Nick, Donna Longoria and Judy Gayer and her husband, Gene, all of Miller; one son Steve Estes, of Miller; one sister, Jane Collier, of Springfield, Missouri; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one great-great  grandson and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents, Louis and Mary, husband, Louis, daughter, Diana Kirby, one brother, Louis Hall Mobley, Jr. and three sisters, Murlene Still, Arbeda Floyd and Dorothy Mobley, preceded her in death.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 7, 2017, at the Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home in Miller.  Burial will follow at the Misemer Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, in the funeral home chapel.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, in care of the funeral home at PO Box 108, Miller, Missouri.
