Ethel May "Dutch" Benham Bolin
Ethel May “Dutch” Benham Bolin, age 86, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, on March 9, 2017, at her home. She was born May 9, 1930, in Galena, Missouri, the daughter of the late James and Audie (Scott) Benham.
Dutch was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Vernon.
On July 2, 1950, she married Norman L. “Red” Bolin, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on January 22, 2009.
She is survived by her son, Norman Bolin and his wife, Suzanne, of Mt. Vernon; one daughter, Denise Murray and her husband, Ben McBride, of Crane, Missouri; sister-in-law, Wanda Craig of Mt. Vernon and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Her parents, James and Audie; husband, Red; granddaughter, Shawna Murray; grandson, Michael Bolin; one sister, Billie Davidson and her husband, Wilson; and two brothers, J.D. Benham and his wife, Dixie, and James Benham and his wife, Frances, preceded her in death.
A graveside service, under the direction of the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, in Mt. Vernon, will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, March 13, 2017, at the Mt. Vernon IOOF Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00–11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 13, 2017, in the funeral home chapel.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Michael Bolin Scholarship Fund at the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Vernon in care of the funeral home.
