Obituary

Lawrence Fredrick Duett, age 72, of Stotts City, Missouri, passed away at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June  6, 2017, at the Mercy Hospital in Aurora, Missouri.  Lawrence was born September 7, 1944, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of the late Ed and Florence (Hubbard) Duett.

Lawrence was a retired welder for the former Country Flame, Inc. in Mt. Vernon, Missouri.

He is survived by five children, Courtney McMillian, Garren, Michael and Stephanie Duett, all of Kansas City, Missouri and Ryan Wehofer of Marionville, Missouri; two brothers, Bob Duett of Mesa, Arizona and Harry “Shag” Duett of Cunas, Missouri; two sisters, Ameretta Dorrance of Buffalo, Missouri and Rosie Alexander of Independence, Kansas; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

His parents, Ed Duett, and Florence Terry and her husband, Raymond; two brothers, Dean and Edward Duett and two sisters, Jeannie Richardson and Alvina Gard, preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at the First Baptist Church of Stotts City.  Burial will be at the Flatwoods Cemetery, in Bennett Springs, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.

Memorial donations may be made payable to the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
