Mildred "Millie" Funk
Mildred “Millie” Funk, age 75, of Everton, Missouri, passed away at 11:25 a.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2017, at her home. She was born November 28, 1941, in Lawrence County, the daughter of the late George and Dorthy (Gardner) Collins.
Millie was a 1959 graduate of Miller High School in Miller, Missouri. She was a baker and cook for the Hickman Mills School District, in Kansas City, Missouri.
On July 29, 1960, she married Melvin Funk, in Raytown, Missouri.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Melvin, of the home; son, Richard Funk, and his wife, Patricia, of Freeman, Missouri; daughter, Dottie Gentry and her husband, Steve, of Grandview, Missouri; four grandchildren, George Funk, Hilary Funk, Steven Gentry Jr. and KayLee Knight; three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Goldie Keenan of Marshfield, Missouri, Ann Hatch of Ash Grove Missouri, Mary Morris of Chesapeake, Missouri and Dorthy Eutsler and her husband, Bob, of Halltown, Missouri and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, George and Dorthy, sister, Retha Blair and brother, Lloyd Collins, preceded her in death.
A visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Burial will be at the Misemer Cemetery at a later date.
