Obituary

Stephen Ellis Blevins, age 68, of Pittsburgh, Kansas, formerly of Miller, Missouri, passed away at 9:16 a.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2017, at his home.  He was born February 14, 1949, in Monett, Missouri, the son of Emery Ellis and Ruth Maxine (Stokes) Blevins.

Stephen was a 1968 graduate of Miller High School and worked for the street department in Webb City, Missouri.   He was a member of The Door Christian Center in Pittsburgh and helped deliver Meals on Wheels.

On February 12, 1991, he married Patti Richards, in Pittsburgh, Kansas.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Patti, of the home; his mother, Ruth Blevins, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; two daughters, Mickie Blevins of Washington State and Rachel Blevins, of Joplin, Missouri; one son, Lem Clem of Joplin; three step-daughters, Chrissy Muriel and her husband, Ed, of Queen Creek, Arizona, Kandi Hollaway and her husband, Danny, of Camdenton, Missouri and Tammy Carter of Washington, Missouri; step son, Jeff Ripley of Lebanon, Missouri; two sisters, Susan Kappler and Becky Tyler and her husband, Jim, all of Joplin; 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

His father, Emery, and one grandson, preceded him in death.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.  Burial will follow at the Mt. Vernon City Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 1:00–2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, prior to the service.
